Amy Poehler to Receive CinemaCon Vanguard Award
CinemaCon Managing Director, Mitch Neuhauser, announced today that esteemed actress and comedian Amy Poehler will be honored with the prestigious CinemaCon Vanguard Award at this year's convention. CinemaCon, the official gathering of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), is scheduled for April 8-11, 2024, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The award ceremony will take place on the evening of Thursday, April 11, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by the official presenting sponsor The Coca-Cola Company.
Amy Poehler, known for her multifaceted career spanning over two decades, has captivated audiences with her versatile performances on the big screen and small screen alike. From her iconic roles in comedy series like "Parks and Recreation" to her acclaimed voice work in animated films such as "Inside Out," Poehler has solidified herself as one of the most beloved entertainers of our time.
"Amy Poehler, in a most distinguished career, has been entertaining people on the big screen for over 20 years," remarked Neuhauser. "She is one of the most versatile, recognizable, and talented performers of our generation who simply brings joy, happiness, and a smile to our faces with each new role. Poehler's latest endeavor includes reprising her role as Joy in Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated film, "Inside Out 2," set to release exclusively in theaters on June 14, 2024. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, "Inside Out 2" promises to explore new emotional territories within the mind of protagonist Riley, with Poehler leading a stellar voice cast.
In addition to her contributions to film and television, Poehler is the founder of Paper Kite Productions, an entertainment company producing content for various platforms. Through Paper Kite, Poehler has championed projects ranging from award-winning series like "Russian Doll" to critically acclaimed documentaries such as "Lucy & Desi."
Outside of her professional endeavors, Poehler is a New York Times bestselling author, an advocate for smart and inclusive content through her platform "Amy Poehler's Smart Girls," and a celebrated live performer, having embarked on the Restless Leg Tour comedy show with Tina Fey.
